Customizable Double Concave Cylindrical Lenses with Quick Delivery We Provide Tailored Solutions for Your Unique Optical Needs

Product Description

Product Description

The double concave cylindrical lens holds a unique and significant place in the field of optics, widely used for its distinctive characteristics. Its uniqueness begins with its special structural shape. As the name suggests, this lens features two concave surfaces that take on a cylindrical form. Unlike conventional spherical lenses, cylindrical lenses have curvature along one axis while exhibiting no curvature—or a different degree of curvature—along the perpendicular axis. This particular geometry enables the double concave cylindrical lens to produce unique refraction and focusing effects on light.

Fushi Optics can provide customers with a variety of replicated grating products such as diffraction gratings, transmission gratings and holographic gratings to meet different needs.

Optical Applications‌

From an optical standpoint, the working principle of the double concave cylindrical lens is primarily based on the law of refraction. When light passes through such a lens, it diverges due to the concave surface structure. Along the curved axis, light spreads outward following specific optical rules, while along the direction with little or no curvature, the light continues to propagate with minimal change. This selective divergence allows the lens to play a crucial role in controlling light distribution within various optical systems. For instance, in lighting setups requiring uniform illumination, the double concave cylindrical lens can effectively spread concentrated beams over a broader area, achieving wider and more even lighting coverage.

Manufacturing these lenses is a complex and precise process. Suitable optical materials—such as optical glass or quartz—must be carefully selected. These materials need excellent optical properties, including high transparency and low dispersion, to ensure accurate light refraction and control. Through precision grinding and polishing techniques, the raw material is shaped into the desired cylindrical profile. This process demands highly accurate machinery and skilled craftsmanship to meet exacting specifications for curvature and surface smoothness. After fabrication, rigorous testing and calibration are essential to verify that the lens meets the intended optical performance standards.

In practical applications, double concave cylindrical lenses serve a wide range of purposes. In laser technology, they are often employed to adjust the shape and size of laser beams. Since laser beams typically carry high energy density and have small spot sizes, passing them through a double concave cylindrical lens can cause controlled divergence in a specific direction, thereby reshaping the beam to better suit various tasks such as laser cutting or welding. In optical instruments like microscopes and telescopes, these lenses act as key components for correcting aberrations and enhancing image quality.
