It is typically fabricated by depositing multiple dielectric films on a substrate (such as optical glass or quartz), leveraging the principle of light interference to achieve high transmittance in the target band and high blocking in other bands. Its performance is determined by the central wavelength, bandwidth (Full Width at Half Maximum, FWHM), and peak transmittance: the central wavelength defines the center of the passband, the bandwidth determines the width of the allowed wavelength range, and the peak transmittance reflects the efficiency of light transmission. Depending on application requirements, band-pass filters can be designed as narrow-band (bandwidth <10nm) or broad-band (bandwidth >50nm), with customizable parameters such as size and blocking depth to fit different devices.
