Automatic Cold Cranking Simulator (CCS)
The cold-cranking simulator (CCS) is a device used to determine the low temperature performance of lubricants when starting a cold engine (i.e. cold-cranking). In this condition, the only energy available to turn the engine comes from the starter motor and the battery, and it has been widely assumed that the system acts as a constant power viscometer. The use of this device for this purpose is standardized as ASTM D5293.
Automated Cold-Cranking Simulator consists of a patented thermo electrically-cooled rotor/ stator with vacuum system and injection pump, 16 position sample table, a temperature verification kit, an integrated controller, a waste receiver, a recirculating cooler, proprietary software.
Application area:
1. Lubricating oil industry: Cold cranking simulator is an essential tool for the research and quality control of lubricating oil production enterprises. By using a cold start simulator, it is possible to test the performance of different formulations of engine oil at low temperatures, optimize the formulation of lubricating oil, and ensure that it can provide good lubrication and protection for the engine in cold weather conditions.

2. Automotive manufacturing and maintenance industry: When choosing engine oil, car manufacturers need to conduct cold start simulator testing to ensure that the selected oil can meet the usage requirements of the car in different regions (especially cold regions).
